Primary Animals Raised: Poultry

Located in Cissna Park, Illinois, DuChick Ranch is a family-run micro-farm that believes small scale, pasture-based poultry production can offer both healthier food and stronger soil. Since 2019, Ed and Lindsey Dubrick have cultivated a farm where hens, turkeys and meat chickens roam outdoors, root in fresh pasture, and live without antibiotics or added hormones. The farm’s focus is on transparency, natural behaviors, and growing each flock in step with the land they live on. By raising birds on grass, insects and natural forage, DuChick Ranch aims to deliver richly flavored poultry and eggs while enhancing ecosystem health on their rented and owned acreage.

Raising Practices:

  • Pasture-Raised Turkeys: Turkeys roam widely across pasture areas, grazing on grass, seeds and insects and exhibiting their natural behaviors in a low-stress outdoor environment.
  • Pasture-Raised Meat Chickens: The meat birds at DuChick Ranch are raised on pasture with space to forage and access to sunlight and fresh air, not confined barns, so the product you receive reflects the health and vitality of the animal’s upbringing.
  • No Antibiotics or Added Hormones: From day one the poultry are raised without added hormones, steroids or routine antibiotics. Healthy living conditions replace preventive medication.
  • Regenerative & Local: The farm occupies just under 7.5 acres of combined owned and rented land, and every flock cycle is designed with pasture rotation, soil building and local connections in mind.
